I AM A TEACHER, NOT JUST A TEACHER

"Teacher is the easiest course and that Job or Profession won't help us to become rich".

"What can we gain from being a teacher?"

"Maybe your course is easy, because you are only a teacher".

Upon hearing those words and question from other people hurt me a lot. It's sad that when they hear the word Teacher, they only see it as a minor profession. I can't bear to hear anymore disparaging things about being a teacher, that's why I am here to show you that being a teacher is NOT just being a teacher.

Teaching is the Noblest Profession because it takes courage and passion. A teacher needs to have the guts to stand up for their pupil's interests and a strong passion for teaching, even when it is difficult. Teacher is the builder of our nation. They have a big role in the world that they need to play. Being a teacher is not only focused on teaching, but they also play a role of being a mother inside the classroom. A mother who is there to care for, guide and help her students’ needs not just academically but also in other aspect of their lives. 

It is difficult to become a teacher if you only see this profession as a simple job that can provide you with your needs. Yes, this profession won't help us to become rich, but by just seeing that our students become successful and reaching their dreams feels like winning the lottery. Being a teacher requires a lot of patience, perseverance, and commitment. We need to have a lot of Patience because, we will be handling different students with different attitudes and that's not easy. Also, we will be facing different situation that challenged our commitment in teaching. Moreover, Commitment is also a quality that we need to have in this profession, because when we say that we are committed to something, we are going to exert effort and do our best every single day. Also being committed means that you can give your whole time without complaint. Because in in this profession, the eight hours you spend in teaching throughout the day are not enough, because even if you are at home and you think you can rest after a long and tiring day, there are still students who will communicate with you through social media to ask about their various concerns about the subject that is being taught.

And so, for those people who keeps on saying that being a teacher is the easiest profession among all, always remember that we will not be where we are if not because of them, and to my fellow aspiring teachers, don't let other belittle us but rather let's show that we are teachers, not just a teacher.
